Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My love of music naturally turned itself into a career and now I have the chance to teach students the same love of music that others have taught me. It doesn’t matter what instrument you choose to play in life but the beautiful music that you can learn to create with that instrument.
My main instrument is clarinet and I'm also very proficient in saxophone and piano. I can play all the instruments to some degree and can perform basic repairs on most. I am not a singer, just ask my students. They'd probably say I sound like a bull frog that's having a very bad day.
I attended Michigan State University for 5 years during which I marched in the MSU Marching Band all 5 years and loved it. I Graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and went on to teach for 5 years in a little town called Fowler. I left Fowler to come to Cass City and be a part of this tremendous band program. Since starting in Cass City I attended SOU's American Band College and received my masters in conducting in 2009.
I'm the director of bands for both the middle school bands and the high school symphony band, marching band and jazz band. If you ever have a question please don't hesitate to call or email me and I will make every effort to get your questions answered or issue resolved in a timely fashion.
