I have had the pleasure of working at Cass City High School since the fall of 2010 and have worked on creating a new agriscience and FFA program at the high school. Before moving to Cass City, I obtained my teaching degree from Michigan State University with a major in agriscience education and a minor in Biology.
The positive support for the agrisciene program has allowed for the addition of an Ag Learning Lab where I am able to give students additional hands on experience along with material learned in the classroom. My philosphy on education is that students need to have as many practical, hands on situations as possible to truly understand what they are being taught.
As the FFA advisor, I work with students to gain leadership, confidence, public speaking, and job applicable skills. The FFA is a national organization that promotes premier youth leadership within the agriculture industry.
