I began my teaching career thirty-four years ago at Evergreen Elementary (then part of the Cass City Schools System). I transferred to the Deford Elementary School for a short time, then moved to the Middle School in 1990 and have been teaching fifth graders since that move. I have earned two Bachelors degrees, a Masters degree and have completed 30 hours beyond my Masters degree. When I am not at school or furthering my own education, I enjoy traveling with my husband and two daughters. I also get much pleasure from: reading, playing the piano, singing, being an active member of my church and visiting family and friends.
My goal, as a teacher, has been and remains to establish a non-threatening learning atmosphere. I believe all children are able to learn but not necessarily all at the same pace. I encourage my students to do their personal best at all times. I want each of my students to experience learning as rewarding and fun. Because of this belief, I continue to provide students with varying learning situations so that each child can experience success throughout the school year.
